How to reset partition lables

D

drybones

My DVD drive and DVD writer are labeled (E) & (F)
while partitions on the primary NTFS are labeled (C) (D) (G) (H)

Would prefer that Primary Drive be in alphabetical order with
the two DVD drives & Floppy being last in the order.

Is there a way to accomplish this?

Thanks for reading and replying,

Yes,
Right click My Computer,
select Manage,
select Disk Management,
Expand screen to full size so you can see all the drives,
Highlight one of the CD drives,
click Action at the top and select All Tasks,
select Change drive letter and Paths,
Pick a letter up higher in the Alphabet so it will not interfere with your
hard drives,
Do the same for the other CD drive.

You can now change the letters on the hard drives using the former CD
letters, using the same procedures.
