How to remove the print drivers from vista?

Emmanuel

Hi,

How can we completely remove print drivers and all its traces from vista
client within the domain environment which includes both manual and push
installation of the drivers that happens to vista clients?

I wanted to do this to start a fresh install of the print driver making sure
that the current installed driver is the one on effect and not the old
drivers.

If it is not to much to ask as well, can this be done as well automatically
like through script and how.

Thanks,
Emmanuel

Hi,

Does anyone knows how to do this? Anyone knows how to completely uninstall
the printer drivers on vista machine? I tried several ways such as from print
server properties, print management console and even pnputil as an
administrator but unsuccessfull.

Thanks,
Emmanuel

Is the driver for a local printer or a printer connection?

Here are the local printer instructions for removing a driver that ships
with Vista. If you used setup.exe from a vendor to install the printer find
the uninstall utility from the vendor for your specific device.

Since you have printmanagement.msc first delete the local printer under the
Server/ Printers section, then navigate to Drivers and delete the driver.

Error message help as well. I'll assume you did get an error when
attempting the delete.

Did the printer delete?

If you have a Lexmark, you have to run their uninstall since there is stuff
installed that the spooler does not know about.
