How to remove extra indent markers from text boxes

Several charts in a presentation have multiple indent markers in the text
boxes. The First (far left) set of indent markers do appear to affect the
text in any way. The second set (far right) are the indent markers that the
text in my presentation use for indentation.

I do not know how two set of markers got into the text box and I cannot
figure out how to delete or otherwise get rid of the useless set of indent
markers. My only recourse at the moment is to transfer all the text to a
new, "clean" text box and delete the old one with the unwanted additional
indent markers. But I would like to figure out how and why this has happened
in order to fix it and prevent it from happening again. Any insight would be
greatly appreciated.

You need to "Decrease Indent" in order for the markers on the far left to
apply to your text.

To delete any markers, click on the marker then drag it off the ruler.
