How to reinstall Movie Maker 2.1 on XP SP2

Peter Salomon

When I try to open a video file I get the error message:

D:\.....mpg konnte nicht importiert werden. Eine
Schnittstelle hat zu viele Methoden zum Auslösen von
Ereignissen.

English translation:
D:\....mpg could not be imported. An Interface has to
many methods...

I also get the following error message when I click on
Videosettings in Extras / Options / Advanced:
The file'C:programms\movie maker\mui\0407\moviemk.chm'
cold not be found....

I assume, I made a mistake during installation of Movie
Maker on XP SP1. I hoped to fix it with installation of
SP2 and MM 2.1 but it obviously didn't help.

Best regards
Peter

Peter,

On the first item, MM2 doesn't work or work well with MPEG-2 source files,
so using other software to convert them to AVI files is best, before
importing into MM2.

The Setup section of my website has info about the files you should have....
with MM2.0 and with MM2.1. You can check what you see against it. The CHM
file is Movie Maker's help file.
