How to network xp pro with win me

I have a host pc running xp pro, how do I network a pc running win me as a
client to it? so far I have got into a terrible mess with it

An easy way to do that is to run XP's Network Setup Wizard on both
computers. It will make all the necessary settings. This will get
you started:

XP ICS - Starting the Network Setup Wizard

If you don't have an XP CD or a floppy disk drive, you can copy the
Wizard's executable file to a USB flash drive or writeable CD/DVD and
run it on the Win Me computer:

C:\Windows\System32\Netsetup.exe
