how to make finished tasks go away by themselves?

I have outlook 2002 (office xp) installed, and I cannot
find the setting to make these tasks disappear after they
have completed. I have too many tasks to delete them by
hand all of the time, and they just clutter the screen if
I don't delete them.
Any advice?

You can set a filter on your Tasks folder to hide the completed items;
just modify the current view settings. However, they won't be deleted
that way; just hidden. If you're not going to need to refer back to
completed tasks, you might want to just delete them right away instead
of marking them complete. If you do need to keep them for a short time
before deleting them, you could set up another view of your Tasks folder
which only shows completed items, and then once in a while you can
delete a batch of them based on their completed or due dates.
