how to install a canon a70 dig cam

I can not get my camera to work on my computer. I have talked to others with the same problem. The computer does not recognize the hardware. I am very frustrated becauase I got the cam as a Christmas gift and I would love to upload my pix and send shots of my kids to family members who live in distant places. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Connect the camera to your computer to:


View a list of images stored in the camera

Download images from the camera to your computer.
View information (shooting date and camera settings) about images stored in the camera.
Use your computer to set up slide shows or DPOF print settings (not available on some models).
Save computer images onto your camera.

Note: Install Canon Utilities ZoomBrowser EX before connecting the digicam to the USB port
Refer to the user manual for how to install the USB twain drivers if necessary. I don't need to install this in my X
Pro PC
The drivers and softwares should be in the CD that came with the digicam

I have an A70 but have never bothered to connect the camera to my PC. I
bought a Compact Flash card reader with a USB connector which XP recognises
as a Removable Drive as soon as it is plugged into the PC. Then I take the
memory card out of the camera, plug it into the reader and take the pictures
off the card onto the PC.

This may be another option for you. Card readers are very cheap.
