How to have outlook store .pst at a backed up location?

It happened to me a few times that I didn't do backup soon
enough. And all the Outlook contacts and other things were
stored at the default c: drive. They were gone when the
system crashed to the point that I had to reinstall Windows
XP.

For this reason, I want Outlook 2003 to store the .pst file
in another hard drive on my system, which is data only, that
is backed up frequently and easily. How can I do that?

Download and install Outlook Backup from the Office web site. Then backup to
a folder on your hard drive and copy to removable media. Leave the main pst
file where it is or it won't work.

Stop Outlook. Copy your PST to some folder on the data drive and rename it
on the original drive. Start Outlook. It will complain that it can't find
the folders and giove you a browse window, where you can browse to the new
location of the PST. Select it, click OK, and you'll be back in business.
Don't forget, though, that no backup program will back your PST up properly
unless Outlook is closed.
