How to get rid of horisontal lines?

Hi

I'm getting horisontal lines in my document every now and then, does anybody know how to get rid of them

I've tried to mark them, but the only think I can do is move them one or a few steps up or down, they can't be marked. I've also tried deleting text around it, if I delete the entire chapter the line disappears, but if I only take a few lines above and a few lines below the line stays there

I really hope somebody can help me out, this is driving me crazy

See http://addbalance.com/word/borders.htm. To get rid of one when it first
pops up, use Ctrl-Z.

try putting your cursor just above where the lines are appearing - go to format, borders and shading and click none - hope it helps!!!
