How to edit video files created with WinXP MCE?

Aloha everyone,

I just purchased a laptop running WindowsXP Media Center Edition (HP
zd11us - nice!!!). I recorded a TV show, but don't have any software
capable of editing the resulting video file. Does Microsoft make
anything capable of deleting scenes such as commercials? If not, does
anyone know why they would put in a program to record with no program
for editing? That doesn't make sense, at least not to me. I tried to
open the video file with Movie Maker, but it didn't accept it. I got
the same result with Roxio's Easy Media Creator 7.

Mahalo in advance or any assistance,

William Jones

Aloha everyone,

I forgot to mention that TV recorded using Media Center Edition results
in a video file with a .drv-ms file extension. What program can
read/edit that type of file?
