how to demote a domain controller

the windows 2000 server was installed as a domain
controller, and it is the only computer in that domain.
While, I want to join this computer to another existing
domain. How can I do it?

Urgent. Please help.

Hi,

You can simply run DCPROMO. Remember if this is the only DC the domain will
cease to exist.

run dcpromo, at one point you will choose this is the last dc in the domain,
the domaion will no longer exist.

now its a memeber server and can join the new doamin.
