How to delete Shell Extensions

Hello. I have a WinXP SP1 system. Oftentimes, when I install a new
program, that program adds a shell extension (context menu handlers)
to the registry. So when I right-click on a related file, these
annoying items appear. Anyone know how to permanently disable/delete
these items? Thanks in advance.

BTW, I'm posting from Asia, so my time stamp is 12 hours ahead of
yours.

Wrong! You are posting from the future. You have your time zone set
incorrectly.

From you message header...
Date: Sun, 6 May 2007 16:54:02 -0800

GMT -0800 is US Pacific Time.

GMT is Greenwich Mean Time.

Newsservers take time sones into account and yours is set incorrectly if you
really are in asia. "Asia" would probably be +0400 thru +1200.

Double click the clock in the notification area.
To change your time zone, click the Time Zone tab. In the box above the map,
click the drop-down arrow, and then click your current time zone.

Often those entries become "orphaned" even after you uninstall the program.
There are instructions on how to edit the registry manually in this case but
I have not done it in a while. The Shell Extensions Viewer mentioned in
previous posts is the best tool but it does not work for all items in my
experience. I have placed a shortcut on my desktop to Shell Ext. Viewer.
