How to delete service entry from a services list?

Hi,

I have win xp sp3. Recently a worm entered a bad service entry into
windows services list? My antivirus system has deleted that demon but how
can I get rid of
its entry of name from Services list?

How can I delete service entry from a services list?

U can run regedit.exe & delete it from here:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

What is the name of the Service? How do you know the service entry is
bad? What anti-virus programme detected the worm and what was the name
of the worm?

In a command shell (cmd.exe), run:

sc /?

You can use it to delete a service (but you need to stop it first). If
you haven't first saved a backup image of your OS partition, you could
shoot yourself in your foot.
