This was what someone explained to me how to make a boot
CD for two floppies.

OKay here you go.
For this you will need a few tools. First you will need
winimage. It is
shareware, so just download it from winimage.com. Also you
need to have
Nero (If you don't write me back).
First you open up winimage andcreate an image of the first
floppy disk.
To do this just put in the floppy image in the drive and
press Ctrl+R in
the winimage window. Then after the read is complete,
click the
Image->Change Format in winimage menu. This will open up a
dialog box.
In this you select the 2.88MB size.
Now Place the second floppy into the floppy drive and
navigate to A: in
Explorer. Then just select all files and drag and drop
into the Winimage
window. A dialog box will pop up asking to confirm
injection of files.
Accept it. Then you'll need to save the created floppy
image in some
location (temporarily).
This image is an image of a 2.88 MB floppy, that has been
created from 2
1.44 MB floppy images. Take care to save them in
uncompressed (*.IMA)
format.
Now place your empty CD on the cd writer drive and open
Nero. In nero
when the new compilation window pops up, choose the CD-ROM
(Boot) option
on the left side. Then in the Source of Boot image data,
choose the
image file option, and click browse and select the *.IMA
file you have
just saved from winimage.
In the kind of emulation, choose the 2.88 MB format. You
don't really
need to change any other option. Just write the new CD
with these
options and you should be good to go.
When booting from the CD, make sure that you change your
BIOS settings
so that boot from CD is the first boot device. That's it.

***Note if you are just doing one CD, select 1.44MB size.

The XP CD is itself directly bootable for limited repair or
reinstallations.

If you want something you could boot so as to rescue data for example
from a totally corrupt system, then there is a means of making a
bootable and restricted version of your Windows XP from its installation
CD at http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
