How to convert Favorites Menu Order from Windows 2000/XP to Windows 98/Me

Hello. Even though Windows 2000/XP and Windows 98/Me use the same reg key to
store Favorites Menu Order:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \
Explorer \ MenuOrder \

Simply putting REGEDIT4 on top instead of Windows Registry Editor Version
5.00 does not import Favorites Menu order value form Windows XP to Windows
Me.

Why, if it's the same key and can Favorites Menu order reg file be converted
between operating systems?

By default, exporting registry keys from Win 2K and XP produces a file
encoded in Unicode instead of ASCII. Win 98 and ME don't understand
Unicode, so the file appears to be gibberish. To get around this, when
you export on 2K/XP, click the down-arrow at the end of the "Save as type"
box and select "Win 9x/NT Registration files (REGEDIT4)".
