How to control the Taskbar?

J

John Brown

The taskbar...bottom right near the clock...hides most of the program icons.
Can display them by clicking the little left arrow of course, but how to
arrange for keeping all icons in view all the time?
Thanks.

Right click an empty area of the taskbar and choose properties.
Uncheck the box that reads "Hide inactive icons"

Right click the Taskbar | Properties | Taskbar tab | Customize button |
Click on an item | Select Always show | Click OK | Click Apply | Click OK

[[In Microsoft Windows XP, icons in the Notification area (on the right side
of the taskbar) are, by default, hidden when they are inactive. This
behavior is determined by a setting, which can be cleared or selected for
each item.]]

The settings in the Behavior list are as follows:

* Hide when inactive - Item is automatically hidden when it hasn't recently
been clicked or updated by its associated program.
* Always hide - Item is always hidden.
* Always show - Item is always visible.

Hide when inactive is the default setting for all Notification area icons.
This behavior can be disabled altogether by clicking to clear Hide inactive
icons in the taskbar properties. ]]

properly it is *GOOD*.

This question was posted individually to multiple groups.

This is called Multiposting and it's *BAD*.

Replies made in one group will not be visible in the other groups, which
may cause multiple people to respond to a question with the same answer
because they didn't know someone else had already done it.

This is a waste of time. ]]

With Outlook Express, which you're using...

To send your message to multiple newsgroups on the same news server, in the
New Message dialog box, click the icon next to Newsgroups. In the Pick
Newsgroups dialog box, click one or more newsgroups from the list (hold down
the CTRL key to select multiple newsgroups), and then click Add. You can
choose from all newsgroups or only those you subscribe to by clicking Show
only subscribed newsgroups.

You can send a given message to more than one newsgroup at a time only if
all the newsgroups are on the same news server. To post a message to
newsgroups on other news servers, create a separate message for each news
server.
