How to connect to remote server using XP Pro

Please excuse this XP Pro basic question. I am Mac user and do not know
my way around my wife's Dell with XP Pro.

A friend ask me to connect to his servers and download a file. He gave
me the server's address.

In Mac OSX I would use the Go to menu item and it would let me mount his
server folder on my desktop.

Do I need another application or can this be done direct from XP Pro?

Thanks for putting up with a basic question.

You can do it directly...No 3rd party apps are needed

It would be done from My Network Places. (Start > My Network Places) then
run the Network Set up wizard/Wireless network setup wizard (whichever you
need).

Thanks guys..... I did it the old fashion way. Just did an ftp from
Internet Explorer 7 and it worked on the 2nd pass. The download stopped
mid way and I had to start over again at zero. This must be the
advantage of using an ftp program..... I think they resume where the
transfer failed.

Thanks...... end of thread
