How to Compress AVIs (FRAPS)

I recently recorded a video using FRAPS (www.fraps.com) and now I would like to compress it using Windows Movie Maker (v1.1). The thing is, I'm a complete newbie at this and all I want to do is compress the video (no editing, nothing else). How do I do this (and save it as a .avi file)?

Sorry, I meant v2.0 and I would also like to compress it without losing too much of the quality.

I guess it depends on what type of file you want to end up with. It appears
that FRAPS creates/saves as an .AVI file. If you want to compress that file
you will have to decide on what format you want. The FRAP website says:
"If you have Windows XP you can also use Windows Movie Maker to compress the
video files. If you use Windows Movie Maker it's recommended that you keep
your Fraps video files at 640x480 or under". Run Movie Maker, select File,
Import Into Collections, and select that file. Drag the file to the time
line and then select File, Save Movie file. You will have a variety of
formats to save as. I would recommend one of the High Quality Video
settings which will produce a .WMV file which will be "compressed" and
smaller than your .AVI file.
