How to change laptop power schemes permanently and systemwide?

Guest

I have a laptop running XP Pro. By default, its power scheme was set to PowerSuite Scheme and it goes to standby mode after a while. I tried to change the power scheme from both "Display Properties" page and the registry by setting "CurrentPowerPolicy=0". However, after I reboot the machine, its power scheme always goes back to PowerSuite again (no matter what I changed it to)

So I am wondering if anyone knows how to permanently change the power schemes of a laptop system from PowerSuite to Home/Office.

Thanks in advanced

Hi Jen,

Once in place, run this edit:

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
