How does the Autodialer work?

I can dial using my voice modem and connect to the call recipient, but cannot
get my mic to work as my voice-input device to speak back. Is this a
hardware or software issue? Or is this just me not thinking....? Thanks in
advance.

Outlook uses the Windows dialer, which has no support for voice modems. It's
just a dialer.

Thanks, Russ. Disappointing but helpful. Do you know of a reliable program
that can facilitate outgoing calls from a PC while allowing all the funcions
of a standard phone?

No, I really don't. I'd ask in one of the Windows desktops newsgroups.
