How do you reveal a one grouping after another on a slide in pwpt

I am using windows xp. I want to reveal certain chunks of information on a
slide at a time rather than all of it at once.

What PowerPoint version are you using?
In PowerPoint 2002 and 2003,
Open up custom animation. Add any Entrance effect.
Right click on the effect, select Effect Options.
Click Text Animation Tab.
Under Group Text, select "By 1st level paragraph".
If you have sub points (indented) and at the same time want them to be shown
once at a time, you will need to select "By nth level paragraphs".
Click OK.
Set the "Start:" to "On Click" if you want it to animate only when you left
click or, press enter/spacebar on your keyboard.

In PowerPoint 2000 and below,
You can do the same under Introduce text section.
