How do you control the timing of jpgs in the slide show to appear.

My boss is having me create a powerpoint presentation that includes one slide
with a cluster of jpgs.

I have tried everything in the help files and am unable to get the images
(as a group or individually) in any of the animation areas so I can control
when and how those jpgs appear.

My boss has seen images carefully controlled and wants that. Right now the
images are appearing before any text--completely the reverse of what he
wants. He wants the first two bulleted items to appear, then the jpgs, and
finally the last bulleted item.

I am using PowerPoint 2003.

Can anyone please help me with this?

You can apply Custom Animation settings to each JPG to "Appear", either on a
mouse click or automatically. Explore the possibilities with just a blank
slide. Add a JPG, right click it, select Custom Animation, and then select an
"Entrance" effect of "Appear".

Okay - I've done this many times and I hope I can make this clear without
confusion.

When you insert the image on the slide, you will actually have to animate
the picture to control the appearance and timing. Right click on the image,
select Custom Animation. You'll see Add Effect (click it), then you'll see
"Entrance" and "Exit" animation buttons at the top of the animation window.
Select how you want the image to appear. Notice now the modify box with
Start, Direction, and Speed. This will control if you have to press the
enter key or click the mouse to make the image appear when running your
presentation. My choice would be to select "After Previous" from this drop
menu. Now notice you image name in the little box below with a clock beside
it. Next to the image is a drop down box, click the drop down box and you'll
see "timing". You can decide how many seconds to delay the appearance of the
image. But, you can usually just use the "After Previous" for the start and
that way one picture will appear right after the other. make it fun, use
different entrances and exits. Just remember, the images will go in a top to
bottom order on that list and you must animate every single image. Hope this
helps.
