How do I?

I have accidently set up my desktop in a way the when the cursor is taken off
the front active window the window becomes inactive and migrates to the back.
This is frustrating as I am not sure what I did to have this happen. I have
tried to find the to rectify this so that the window requires a mouse click
to become active not by just having the cursor on it.
HELP please.

You got it by playing with TweakUI. It is called "X-mouse window
activation" and can be enabled/disabled in TweakUI, Mouse.

Well, AFAIK, XP doesn't itself have a way to do it. Do you have a gee whiz
type mouse such as Logitec? Mouse tweaking software such as
Setpoint/Mouseware/iTouch/IntelliPoint/etc? Or some other tweaking program
like TweakUI? If so - and even if not - I'd be looking in "Mouse" in the
Control Panel. There may be more than one entry there for "Mouse" if you
have a gee whiz type mouse.

If you find nothing in CP you could always stick in TweakUI and kill it from
there.
