How Do I Uninstall Yahoo Address AutoComplete from My Add/Remove List?

M

Martin Cohen

I had un-installed Yahoo messenger and its e-mail components without any
trouble, but when I click the button for Yahoo Address AutoComplete, the
page blinks and nothing happens. I went into safe mode and tried to
uninstall it from my add/remove list with no success. I reinstalled Yahoo
messenger using the custom setting as I did when I originally installed it.
Then I uninstalled Yahoo messenger and the e-mail components, but still
could not uninstall Yahoo Address AutoComplete. I went to the Registry
Editor with the help of Dell Hardware Support and clicked Ctrl and 'f' keys.
The find window appeared and I typed Yahoo. It highlighted a file or key
value?! I made a restore point, and then I deleted it. It didn't work! I
went to Windows Explorer and looked in the local "C" disk under "program
files" and deleted a yahoo folder. I re-booted to my desktop and it still
did not allow me to uninstall Yahoo Address AutoComplete! Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Kelly,
Just to clarify... you're turning Autocomplete for Addresses off, but it
won't disable?

Didn't mean to offend. There are some folks that see the first post but
don't know how to open the responses using the Internet group readers. Just
checking. :)

Don, what I am trying to do is remove it. I have gone to add/remove
programs, and as Martin said you click on it to remove and it blinks and does
nothing.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

No help on Yahoo's help site and I e-mailed them and got an auto response
that had nothing to do with my question. I did do a search in the files and
folders for the path of Yahoo Address AutoComplete and found no entry. I
think it has to do with the registry editor, I don't know anything about
registry keys and one can crash their system if they fool with it and not
know what their doing. I'm sorry that I didn't respond sooner...I'm new to
this. I believe the AutoComplete has something to do with the Yahoo's
e-mail and address book. When I downloaded Yahoo messenger, I discovered it
on my add/remove list. I would appreciate any help!

Thanks,

Martin

Perhaps it's dependent on Yahoo Messenger. Try reinstalling Messenger,
uninstalling [autocomplete] and then Messenger again.

This Program will do it I think

Hi,

Try using Tenebril Uninstaller, you can get an evaluation copy from major download sites such as download.com. Good Luck!
