How do I turn off PP pop up registration message?

I bought PP 2000 on eBay and put it on my laptop, which
has no modem. When using PP I keep getting messages that
I must register or it will stop working after a certain
number of times (it started with 50, I think and is now at
10). I got the Product Key (that's how I loaded it) and I
have a "CD SET" number but in the pop up window it asks
for a "Confirmation" (a set of characters, I presume). I
don't have this.

Is there some method (using regedit?) that I can kill
these messages?

Hi, Paul. The pop-up message will go away by itself in about 10 more
uses (much to your chagrin I suspect). If you want to be proactive,
start Powerpoint and click on Help | Activate Product, where you should
find instructions on how to activate by telephone.

My guess is that you actually have PowerPoint 2002 and it's asking you to
activate the software. As Garfield advises, you will not be able to use the
software if you ignore the message. There is lots of information available at
