i just got a new vista pc and used easy transfer to move my old outlook files
over. now when i launch outlook for the 1st time a windows pops up briefly
saying "migrating account settings" and then it gives an error box with the
following statements:

"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The
set of folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact
your administrator if this condition persists."

This occurs every time I try to launch outlook 2003.

This is a POP installation - no admin, just personal mail. I'll happily
copy over my .pst file manually - but I can't get outlook to start at all.
Even removing and re-installing did not work. Anyone with some ideas for me?
Greatly appreciated.

Use the Mail applet in the control panel to create a new profile, add
accounts etc

Uninstalling OL doesnt impact on its data file or the origonal
profile/settings
