How do I tell if the QFE Desktop Installer is in my image?

Paul

Hello

Is there a way to find out if my engineer has actually downloaded the QFE
installer and added it to my new images? Is it an actual program and can be
found in the ADD remove etc or is it just a list of dependancies that must
be added and the only way to know for sure is by thrying to add QFEs from MS
released after May 11th 2004?

Also what QFEs are eligible, are they strictly XPe or can XP Pro QFEs now be
used?

Cheers

Paul,

This has been recently discussed in this NG so you may want to search the archive.
E.g., http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...=1&selm=#[email protected]

Basically, Desktop QFE Installer is just a set of dependencies. No reg.settings or additional files.
Therefore no easy way for you to find out it has been included at run time. You may, however, go through all the component
dependencies (just open SLD file of the component to check them out) and verify that they are in your run time.

That is what I thought and I had seen that but I wanted to make sure as my
engineer has been acting a little weird about this whole issue so I wanted
to make sure.

Cheers

OK, this component is named improperly for what it does - this is a
point of contention I'm losing over on this side. It's not a tool of
any kind, just a macro component that adds support for desktop updates
to be run on XPE runtimes.

Sorry for the confusion - the naming was out of my hands and set in
concrete before I could raise my objections.
