How do I switch identity when sending emails in Outlook

Have just switched from using Outlook Express to Outlook and cannot find how
to 'switch identity' when sending emails. I have 5 email accounts and need
to send emails from each of them but I cannot find how to do this. I am
using Microsoft Outlook 2000.

Just out of curiosity, does it still shut itself down and then restart
when changing identities?

Thanks

Outlook doesn't have identities. If you're using Outlook 2000 in
Corporate/Workgroup mode, you can have mail profiles, each of which can
utilize a distinct message store. If you're using OL 2000 in Internet Mail
Only mode (Help>About will tell you), you have a single message store
(unless you're using an IMAP account), but all your accounts can use the
same store and you can use Send Using to send our messages from separate
accounts.

Well, since Outlook doesn't have identities, the OP can't very well switch
identities, can s/he?

'Fraid I haven't got that far yet - just how do you actually change
identities, have searched and searched and cannot find it in Outlook, it's
there in Outlook Express but not in Outlook. Would appreciate info on how to
do it

Thanks for your quick reply. I am using it from home and just want to be
able to send emails from different email addresses. The only reason I am
swapping from Outlook Express is to be able to use some of the other
facilities which Outlook Express does not have.

I don't mind the incoming mail being in one message store, I can sort them
afterwards. I have looked for the 'send using' option and this only appears
in the main window and not in the message window. I tried pressing send in
the message window so it went in the outbox and then 'send using' after that,
but it still used the default email address. Would welcome any help please,
it's driving me mad :0)

Thanks

We need to know what mode of Outlook you're using. Help>About (second line,
I believe).
