How do I stop the automatic deletion of messages in inbox?

How do I stop the automatic deletion of messages after they are viewed in the
inbox? After I view a message in the inbox and click on another message the
previous message is perminantly deleted!

Check your views - you most likely have it set to unread messages.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
