How do I stop a signature from being inserted in a template?

I am trying to use a template that I created and unfortunately my email is
automatically inserting my signature into my template (above the text of the
template)! I'd rather have the signature inserted below the template text,
but I don't want to completely turn off my signature every time I want to use
the template. Help!
