How do I set the Home, Insert, etc. tabs to always display?

When I click on the Home tab, or any other tab it displays the corresponding
groups, e.g. Font, Paragraph, etc. But when I start typing in the document,
the tab closes. How do I choose to have tab display all the time? I'm
pretty sure the tabs stayed open until recently. I think I did something
inadvertently.

Right-click the ribbon. On the context menu, clear the check mark next to
"Minimize the Ribbon."

Or just double click one of the tabs.
