Hi,

Please can you help, as I am not very technical. I have restriced access on
a Word document and I sent it to those who I have given access. However,
when they click on the document it is asking them for a password.

Q1. Do I have/am I actually using the RMS security? I didn't think I would
have to set a password. I didn't see any options for this.
Q2. Can I secure a document so that people do not have to type passwords to
access the document?
Q3. If I have to set a passoword, how do I do this?

I did a search using the StartSearch button on the home screen for RMS. I
don't think I have RMS saved in my program files (if that is where it is
supposed to be?)

I went to the RMS page on the Windows site where you can download different
versions but as I am not sure if I have the software or not I don't want to
risk downloading anything yet.

Can anyone help to solve the mystery, and explain how this thing is supposed
to work.

Thanks for your help.

you have to describe in detail what you did in Word to restrict the
access: forms protection, protection for editing, etc.; and indicate the
version of Word you are using.

I'm not aware of any way to restrict access without a password unless
you have some server-side installation in place.
