How do I modify a Standard Form?

Can I modify the standard mail form (ipm.note) so that new
and existing items with the ipm.note message class use
it? Also it would be accessable by the 'new mail message'
button. I've looked at custom forms but so much of the
standard message form functionality gets lost (can't
access with one button, automatic signature doesn't work,
need to send form definition which greatly increases
message size, can't 'read' existing messages with new
form 'cause it has a custom class (ipm.note.newmessage))

Is modifying the standard form realy the way to go? What
I want to accomplish is a message form showing the
category and a user defined field 'Job Number', both of
which must be filled in before sending.(I've done this
with a custom form). Then I'd like all incoming mail to be
displayed with the same form so that "job number' and
category could be filled in by the recipient prior to
moving the message to a public folder.

Also, how do I delete a custom form from my personal forms
library?

If you have Outlook 2000 or later, you can make a registry change to
substitute your custom form for the default form. See
http://www.outlookcode.com/d/newdefaultform.htm#changedefault . Note that it
doesn't work completely for message forms in Outlook 2003. An alternative in
that case is to use VBA code to change the MessageClass of incoming items to
your custom form class.

You manage forms with Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | Custom
Forms | Manage Forms.

FYI, there is a newsgroup specifically for Outlook forms issues "down the
hall" at microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms or, via web interface, at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...spx?dg=microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms
