How do I make word automatically show the date in 6 months

Marty

How do I make word automatically give me the date 6 or 12 months in advance,
like Excel does with this formula =DATE(YEAR(F4), MONTH(F4)+6, DAY(F4))
I need it for adding "best before" dates on Labels.
Thanks in Adcance

That doc file is very well written but.
I'm using Word 07, and its driving me insane,
I can't copy and paste those codes in to a new field in word.
why doesn't microsoft make this easier.

Hi Marty,

The fields work equally well with Word 2007. There is no impediment to copying them from the tutorial document and pasting them into
a Word 2007 document.

Of course you can. The codes in the document will work equally well in Word
2007 as in earlier versions and can be copied from the document to your
document and edited there to achieve what you require. Macropod has done all
the work for you. Alt _ F9 will display the codes as opposed to the result.
CTRL+C then CTRL+V is hardly an onerous task.

The item you want is "Calculate a day, date, month and year, using n months
delay" on page six. Change the delay to 6 and adjust the switch to give the
date format you require. Do read the introductory section of the document.

Cheers,
I was trying to copy all the code instead of just copying the field,
now my problem is with "envelopes and labels not reading it properly.
but I've always had issues with printing labels and "word" changing formats
automatically for no reason.

Hi Marty,

How/where are you trying to apply the field code? Neither an envelope format nor a label format should have any effect on its
operation. If you're trying to output the same date on multiple labels, you might want to bookmark the field's output then use
cross-references to that, rather than replicating the field on each label.

I have the field code set correctly and it works on its own,
now when I click
-select all - envelopes and labels - new document, it doesnt show up.
The Date code Field shows up but not the "best before" field.
even when I just have the "best before" code on its own it wont show up in
labels.

I've had problems with Word automatically changing my fonts and some other
weird issues with spacing when trying to print labels before, but its
tempermental, and only does it sometimes.

Hi Marty,

You need to insert the field code after creating the new document. Even the Date field is liable to be converted to plain text
rather than remaining as a field if you insert it beforehand.
