How do I make Verdana Cyrillic work in PowerPoint

I have an English PowerPoint presentation template, produced using Verdana.
When I try to adapt the text to Cyrillic for a Russian version, the cyrillic
text always defaults to Arial. I checked with Character Map, and my installed
version of Verdana does include Cyrillic characters.

I am using PowerPoint 2002 with SP3.

Have you changed the default language to Russian when adapting?

Michael,

Thanks for your rely. Yes I did change the default language, buy each the
presentation still reverte to Arial each time I tried to add text.
I have resolved the problem now by starting a completely new template based
on a Blank presentation. I made sure that absolutely everything was set to
Russian and then buitl it from scratch using my English original for
reference. Not an ideal solution I know.

Thanks again
