How do I make the task pane stopped appear at startup in Word?

THE TASK PANE STOPPED APPEARING AT STARTUP IN wORD. I CHECKED THE APPROPRIATE
BOX, BUT IT WON'T SHOW.

Aren't you the lucky one? NO WONDER YOU WANT TO SHOUT ABOUT IT!

I don't know which 'appropriate box' you checked but it should appear in
response to Tools > Options > View tab > Startup Task Pane checkbox.

If unchecked the "Show at Startup" box doesn't do the trick, then you need
the Task Pane Controller add-in from
