How do I get XP to logoff automatically after a few minutes

My XP used to logoff after a few minutes of non-use. Now it does not. Is
there any way to fix that?

Log off - or did it just 'lock'?

Logging off infers that all open programs closed - meaning when you logged
back in - everything you had up when you 'walked away' had to be re-opened
and anything you had not saved was lost forever.

When I refer to 'lock', it means you may have had to enter your password
again - but when you did, everything was 'as you left it'.

If the latter - check your screensaver settings in the display properties.

No, it did not. It triggered the screensaver. You'll have to
configure which screensaver to use and how long to wait before it
triggers.

Right-click on desktop -> Properties -> Screensaver tab

right click desktop, properties, screen saver, power option at the bottom of
the screen, turn off monitor select from dropdown arrow, select your five
minutes, then click save as, save scheme ok, then apply.
