How do I get my sent folder open -Says unable to display folder.

When I click on the sent folder to view my sent messages, I get a phrase that
says "Unable to display folder" . I can't seem to find the right tools to
correct this. I use Microsoft Outlook. Anybody out there know how to fix it?
