How Do I Get a Photo OUT of Powerpoint?

S

Sue C

I have a Powerpoint 2007 presentation that has a photo inserted within it.

I now can't find the original copy of this photo, so want to extract it from
Powerpoint so that I can use it in other applications. I'm sure I've done
this before, but now can't remember how.

Thank you anyone who can help.

I don't have a 'Save as Picture' option. I'm using 2007, did something
change in the move from 2003?

In 2007 when you right click an image the "Save as picture" is the third
option from the bottom of the list.

Are you sure? You must select the picture. Right-click. The "save as
picture" option is near the bottom of the right-click menu -- two or three
from the bottom.

There's a "change picture" option closer to the top of the right-click menu.
Don't let that one stop you! :)

I'm sure. The menu options I get when I right click the picture are:

Cut; Copy; Paste; Exit Edit Text; Font; Paragraph; Bullets; Numbering;
Convert to SmartArt; Hyperlink; Synonyms; Format Text Effects; Format Picture.

The Cut, Copy and Format Text Effects options are greyed out so I can't use
them.

Er, I'm obviously doing something wrong, but I don't know what. It can't be
that hard to right click a picture surely???

Hmmm, could it be something to do with the fact that rather than use the
'Insert - Picture' option, I have use the 'Format Object' option, then used
'Picture or Texture Fill' to bring the picture in from file?

Sue,
You have an object with a picture as background and text typed in it.
I only get your items in the fast menu when I right click the text in the
object. When I right-click the background picture I get another fast menu
with Save as in it.

I'm sure you're right, although I don't actually have text in there, so it
looks like I'm actually clicking on the picture, although in reality I can't
be. Any clues?

Thanks for your help so far!

I think you have clicked inside the autoshape you've filled with a picture.

If that's the case, hit Esc to select the autoshape itself. Now right-click
that.

Good job. Yes, you need to select the shape, not the contents of the shape.
To select the shape itself, click its border -- or click inside the shape,
then hit Esc.
