How do I delete a message stuck in Outlook outbox. MSN email acco

I was trying to send a rather large file @230MB using outlook 2003. I have
an MSN email account that I use for Outlook. The message is stuck in the
outbox (in italics)and will not send. I have read all of the news groups,
etc on this and still no fix thought I have tried everything. I cannot
delete it or anything. My send/receive function is really bogged down by
this. Microsoft wont help, and MSN is playing dumb. Can anyone help?

Put Outlook in offline mode. Exit Outlook. Start Outlook. Now delete
the outbox item. Put Outlook in online mode.

When you put Outlook in offline mode, did you actually *exit* Outlook?
You need to start Outlook with it in offline mode so Outlook doesn't try
sending any items in the Outbox. If Outlook starts to send the outbox
items, it's too late to delete them from there.

You could try defining a new message store (.pst file) and use that new
one in place of the old one in your mail profile. But that means losing
all items in your old message store. Similary, you could try creating a
new mail profile (Mail applet in Control Panel while Outlook is NOT
loaded) and see if that works okay but again you start with zero items
in the new profile (although you can open the old .pst file in Outlook
and then drag the old items to similar folders in the new .pst file, and
then close that old .pst file).

Not possible. One of the ways mentioned (method 3) creates a new, empty
PST. There's no way anything can be in the Outbox of a new PST.
