How do I create a distribution list from shared contacts?

My boss asked me enter a list of new contacts to her contacts folder, then
create a distribution list from those names. She shared her contacts with me
and gave me editing privileges. I'm able to create new contacts in her
folder, but I can't make a distribution list--when I try, the only contacts
it shows are my own, not hers. So how do I create a distribution list in her
contacts? Thanks.

Assign each contact to a category representing the DL and you won't need
DLs. Categories are more reliable anyway.

Thanks but it has to be a distribution list, my boss is pretty particular
about it.
