How do I convert music from a cd or mpeg into a wav file?

I am trying to add music to a powerpnt presentation (its the first time Ive
ever used it). Its 2003 version. The help notes tell me that the music must
be in .wav file into order to work. How do I convert a cd I have into wav or
convert my mpeg files?? Iam tearing my hair out and I know there must be
some way to do it! MPF.

If you have Windows Media Player on your system. you have the option to RIP
your CD into MP3 or WMA format, which you can use in PowerPoint. If you want
to embed the sound file then you can convert it to a WAV file using a
freeware program called Audacity which you can download from here
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Keeping in mind that your WAV file cannot
exceed 50000kb max, which you have to set.

remeber that when you convert an mp3 into wave your filesize will increase
dramaticly and can no longer be easy used in powerpoint
there's a trick to solve this probelem (works when you want to 'convert' mp3
to wave (small filesize, for example 3,65MB mp3>3,65MB wave.

read the sectoin cdex.............
http://presentationsoft.about.com/od/powerpointtips/f/sound_probs.htm

by the way, you can't convert mpeg into wave..............mpeg is a
moviefile, not a musicfile.

good luck
