How do I consolidate two Outlook 2003 .pst files into a 2007 file

I need to consolidate two Outlook 2003 .pst files (one from my laptop and
another from a file recovered from a lightning destroyed PC/hard drive) with
the Outlook 2007 .pst file I just started on my new Vista based desktop. I
tried to import the laptop .pst file into the 2007 .pst file. It seemd to
work, but only the task info is reflected in Outlook 2007 after it was
completed. The file size increase indicates the records were imported, but
none of the mail from the other .pst files shows in the inbox. What do I need
to do differently? Thanks for any help!

Simply open the second PST with FIle>Open>Outlook Data File. That will give
you access to everything it contains and you can drag-and-drop to rearrange.
