Can't import Outlook 2003.pst file into Outlook 2007 !

I have just installed and configured Outlook 2007 in a new laptop w Vista. I
fail to import the 2003 .pst file into my new Outlook 2007, although I
believe I have followed the right routine:
1. I first copied the old .pst into an external hard disc.
2. Checked that the imported file was not write protected or hidden and that
I (administrator level) had full permissions
3. I then tried to import the pst file into the new Outlook 2007 through the
File/Import and Export wizard
4. When trying that, I get the message "You do not have permission to open
the file"

PLEASE a hint someone?!?

Copy (with OL closed) pst to some location on your hd eg My Documents
Assuming read only flag is off
Within OL open the data file

thanx DL,
I did so, but when I try to open pst within Outlook (File/open/Outlook data
file) I get following warning: "You are adding an archive, which i not
supporting Unicode in your profile. This archive is not to be used for
multi-lingual Unicode data. Do you wish to continue?"
And surely I don´t have the guts to click on OK...

Any ideas on this, DL or anyone?

Go ahead and click OK, the error message indicates the .PST file is in the
older ANSI format (which has a size limit of about 1.6 Gb). Once opened,
you can drag and drop the contents of the old .PST file into a new, Unicode
..PST file.
