How do I change the receive "Ding Dong" sound in Outlook
I want to play my "You have mail" .wav file

Go to the Sounds applet in the control panel. Under sounds tab, change the
*.wav file associated to the New Mail Notification.

What do you do when the sound is selected in the control panel and the "play
sound" box is checked in Outlook options, but no sound plays when mail is
received? Never had a problem with 2000, but can't get sound to work after
conversion to 2003. All other program sounds do work. Thanks.

Depends on the type of mailbox you are working with, but here are two things
I would look for.

1) A rule that plays a sound.
2) In exchange environments, look at the av solution to see if it moves the
new items into the mailbox after scanning. (Cleansweep is a good example.
Moving the item from a hidden folder to the Inbox doesn't trigger any new
mail events.)
