How do I bypass the admin login

I have xp-pro on my desktop, and after installing Defender, I found that it
destroyed my ability to use my Office Suite. It kept telling me I needed an
admin login or that I wasn't allowed to use the program. After trying
unsuccessfully to get Office restored, I decided to uninstall Defender. Now
I can't even get into the computer. It boots, but brings me to a login
screen that requires an administrators password. Nothing I have tried works
to get me past this screen. While I know the people at Microsoft have lots
of justifications and rationalizations for this and will probably tell me it
is my fault, the bottom line is that before Defender, I had a computer that
worked well. After Defender, I have a computer that doesn't work and so far
it has cost me over $5,000 in lost work and having to buy a new computer.
However I still have files on the old computer that I need for work. How do
I get past the admin login screen to get to my files. I can't afford any
more of Microsoft's free programs.

Something else is going on if it appeared Windows Defender caused
that.

Did Windows Defender find something?
Occasional issues are caused when malware is removed leaving whatever
damage they already did more clearly visible.
This can happen with any anti virus, spyware or other malware remover.

When you get in, if necessary, you can also use System Restore to
Date/Time before issue started.

You could, of course, take the HDD out of the old computer and place it it
an external enclosure if you had one or wised to purchase one or place the
old hard drive as a slave or on a seperate bus in the new computer and then
just copy the required files over to the new machine.

You may need to take ownership of the files/folders.

Once you have ascertained the you have all the files you could then just
nuke the old machine and reinstall every thing.
