How do I block sound attachments?

Messages I receive from a specific person always have sound attachments which
play automatically when the message is marked as read. Is there any way to
turn these off?

What version of Outlook? See help, about if unsure. Current versions of
Outlook shouldn't be using any active content, especially in the preview
pane.

You could remove the associate for that file type but then you can't listen
to any sounds unless you open the player first and use it's file open menu.

You can also use the method here:
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/blockzips.htm
You'll need to add the sounds file type to the Level1Remove key - you may
need to create the key, replacing your version # of outlook in the registry
path. This should prevent it from playing and to listen, you'd need to save
the file to the hard drive. Level1Add will block it completely - you will
not be able to save this file format.
