How do I add an Outlook 2007 Archive file in the navigation pane?

D

Dan

I want to add an Archive file to the Mail Folders pane.

I click File | Data File Management |
The Account Settings box pops up
I click Data Files | Add
In New Outlook Data File box I select Office Outlook Personal Folders File
(.pst) and click OK
In Create or Open Outlook Data File, I select the desired file and click OK
The box Microsoft Office Outlook pops up with the message "The requested
operation failed". No reason is given.
Thank you for your help.

I seem to recall there's a check box in the AutoArchive dialogue that
specifies the archive PST should show in the folder list.

Yep. Tools>Options>Other>AutoArchive>Show archive folder in folder list

Many thanks Brian, it worked.

Hi Brian
I also have the same problem but even though that box is checked the folder
does not show in folder list. I have tried to open the archive folder from
File>Data File Management but it does not open. I only reason I archived was
that a message came up that I had to delete messages as the size had been
exceeded. So I deleted a few large mail and archived Sent Items. The
archive folder has 628,945KB so my mail is there but I cannot access it.
Thanks for any help you can give.
