Like do you totally joust, or what? :) Sorry, I love the image your handle
created in my (slightly off-center) mind.

If you are using PowerPoint 2002 (XP) or 2003 than:

1) "Insert" a sound on the slide you want the sound to begin on (you know
how to do this already)
2) You are given the option of having it play immediately: just say yes.
3) Drag the silly sound icon off the slide into the margin.
4) Select the sound icon and right click
5) Choose Custom Animation
6) In the Animation Task Pane select the little pulldown arrow to the far
right, next to the sound's name.
7) Select "Effect options..." from the dropdown list
8) You will see a Stop playing after XX slides option and box in the new
dialog box

Please note that PowerPoint will not fade the sound out, it will chop it
off: so you may want to consider using a sound editing program to fade the
song before inserting it.

Post back if this doesn't answer your need or if I wasn't clear in
explaining the steps.
