how do i access bios?

I need to access bios to disable the on-board audio, also
I have just installed a new sound card and need to remove
the driver for the stock sound card, i cannot seem to
find it in the add/remove programs list, my computer is a
gateway e-4000 that is about 6 months old, any ideas as
to uninstall the current sound driver?

Right Click on My Computer > Propoerties > Hardware > Device Manager >
Sound, Video, Game
Controllers > right click on your sound drivers and uninstall.

When you reboot, hold down the DEL key and you'll get the BIOS set up. Use
the guide that came with your
PC to navigate the different menus. Once disabled, save the BIOS settings
and exit, you'll then re-boot with
no sound.

You can then turn the PC off and insert a new soundcard (I assume that's
what you want to do). XP will
recognise it on bootup and you'll simply need to install the new drivers.
(Visit the manufacturers web site to
make sure you've got the most recent version).

Cheers,
Jerry
